Started Guitar 3/20/2016.

Worked on a beater guitar for 3 months and now I have a brand spanking new Taylor 314ce on the way. Working on the basics for now. I have a handful of catchy riffs under my belt the CAGEDAmEmFB7 Chords under my belt but the chord switches are steady but slow, strumming and picking with a metronime, scales. I’m working on House of the rising sun using thumb/fingers 1-2-3. Most of my exposure has been from Mark and Youtube instructors I plan on another couple of months Hopefully mastering 3 songs. House of the rising sun, La Bamba, and the intro to Wish you were here by pink floyd. Then I head over to play with the big dogs. A buddy said they would sit around and play the three songs with me then they would do there thing and I could pick up little nuances. Also once I get use to the new guitar….I got it made with a 1-7/8″ nut as my hand is a XXL and can span 27cm , which is great one one hand but I’m struggling physically not muting strings. So I plunked down way to much money on a guitar for my 60th birthday. But I’m a firm believer in the more you spend the more you practice. I try to get some playing time everyday and have enjoyed early sunrise on the deck and coffee.

I’m coming from a VERY limited musical background.
